Missions
The Gathering
The Gathering provides a free meal twice a month to area residents. The program is an opportunity for both families in need and those who usually eat alone to enjoy a free meal and a time of fellowship together.
Over the 6 years that the Gathering has been serving members of the Madison community the meal has grown from serving 30 people at the first meal to serving an average of 140 people at each meal. Because of the increase in size, volunteers are always needed. If your Church, service organization, business or community club is looking for a way to serve our community, please contact the United Methodist Church (256-2162) to reserve a date. Donations of food and money are also welcomed.
Mission Offering
Each month a mission offering is selected. Any money given to missions during that month is donated to the organization that was selected. Some of our past mission offerings have been given to the Lake County Food Pantry and Angel Tree program, the Haiti Solar Oven Project, our pastor’s Caring Fund, the Lake-Kingsbury County Red Cross, the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church Ingathering, etc.
